On Pinterest I saw a pin for Left Over Ham with 30+ recipes. I tried one of the recipes and it wasn't that great. Here is our modified version which tasted MUCH BETTER. The only problem with this recipe is I didn't measure anything. Next time I make it I'll measure stuff and re-post it. If your comfortable just throwing in spices then give this recipe a try.
HAM BONE SOUP

1 Left over Ham Bone. (ours usually has some ham on it)
2 Whole cloves of garlic
1/2 a green pepper
3-4 stalks of celery
1/2 onion cut up very fine
Thyme just sprinkled in, maybe a tsp.
3-4 chopped potatoes
Put the ham bone in a 6 quart sized pot and fill 2/3 of the way full with water. Add the other ingredients and cook till veggies are done. I cooked mine with the lid off for about half the cooking time. This part doesn't have to be timed perfect. I just left it cook on low for a couple of hours.
Next take the bone out. Cut off any ham and put back into the soup. I used a slotted spoon and found big chunks of ham that came off the bone and cut those into bite sized pieces.
Next add:
1 can White Kidney Beans ( I only had 1 can but I would've added 2 if I had it another on hand)
Dash of salt and pepper
Garlic salt
Onion Powder
Dash of Cheyenne Pepper
Couple tablespoons of Flour to thicken, depends on how much water has cooked off of the soup.
Cook till desired thickness.
***I usually cook baked potatoes the night before and just cut up leftovers for this soup. If you use raw potatoes add them at the beginning. If you use already cooked spuds then add them with the kidney beans. Potatoes are so cool. If you put to much salt in this soup just add some more potatoes and they will absorb the salt making it taste better.
